Experience of working productively with contractors and freelance staff.Experience of working positively with designers.Experience of project management, and delivery with the other workshop teams.Excellent knowledge of theatre engineering and construction in a large-scale theatre environment.Our ideal candidate will also be able to evidence: As well as being a people manager, you will be a subject matter expert in draughting, ideally with experience of construction drawings for the realisation and production of scenery. You will manage a small but dedicated team, preparing the technical drawings for our scenic construction team.
The Assistant Manager (Draughting) is responsible for the Construction Drawing activities of the Workshop, ensuring that all activities are carried out to the highest possible standard of safety, efficiency, and quality. The sets and scenery are built by teams of highly skilled scenic artists, carpenters, draughtspeople, and metalworkers in line with the ROH commitment to in-house production and sustainability. At the site we have a scenic construction carpentry workshop, metal workshop, paint studio and fit up area, enabling us to make scenery for the Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet as well as the Birmingham Royal Ballet. High House Production Park is home to the Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop, our purpose built state-of-the-art 3750 sq metre building in Purfleet, Essex.
